Rayna Sling Pattern with optional kits!

If you want to make your own waist/hip/bum/sling bag, you’re in the right place! With this purchase, you will be mailed a paper version of this pattern with full pattern pieces, detailed pictures, and step by step instructions. 

This pattern is for the advanced bag maker as it uses advanced bag making techniques, including binding to finish. As written, this pattern can be made on most domestic machines. We’ve included dozens of pictures to accompany each step, as well as a cut chart if you prefer not to print out any of the rectangle pattern pieces. As with all our patterns, we have a full video tutorial available on our YouTube channel Linds Handmade Designs.

Specs: Finished bag is roughly 7½” wide by 5½”h by 2” deep. (D ring to d ring it is 12½ wide.). This bag has 1 main compartment with 2 interior slip mesh pockets, and one exterior zippered pocket. 

Materials & Supplies:

• ¼ yd exterior fabric
• ⅜ yd lining fabric
• 8”x11” sheet of vinyl/cork/leather
• 8”x4” piece of mesh fabric
• 8” cut of fold-over elastic
• ½ yd 45” midweight woven interfacing (*fabric dependent)
• ¼ yd of 17” wide Decovil light or fusible fleece
• (2) 1 d rings 
• (2) 1 swivel clasps
• (1) 1½” strap adjuster
• (1) 1½” rectangle ring
• 23” of #5 zipper tape
• (2) #5 zipper pulls
• 1½-2 yards 1½” wide webbing 
• (4-10) 8mm double cap rivets and setting tool
• 3/32” (2.4mm) leather hole punch or rotary punch (*optional for rivets)
• ⅛” (3mm) double-sided tape
• Craft glue stick (*optional)
• Wonder clips or metal hair clips
• Stapler (*optional but highly recommended)
• Staple remover (*optional but highly recommended)
• Quilting ruler 
• Rotary cutter
• Marking pen
