Adults, Learn to Sew With Us!

Join our sewing classes and quilting classes for adults and teens! Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, our community makes learning fun and easy.

How the Program Works

Step 1: Start with Sewing Machine Basics. Once you've completed the basics (or have similar skills), you'll move on to the next step. 

Step 2: Move into the Beginner Series! Move through the series in any order, build skills, and finish a project each session.

  1. Beginner Series: Zipper Pouch: Practice rotary cutting, corners, linings, and closures! 
  2. Beginner Series: Market Bag: Discover how to cut "on the fold" with a pattern, sew and grade curves, sew a lining, and box corners. 
  3. Beginner Series: Notebook Cover: Learn the foundations of quilt piecing while we sew up this useful notebook cover (provided)!

Step 3: Graduate to our Intermediate Series, which has three tracks to keep you challenged and engaged:

Already experienced or completed our beginner and intermediate classes? Join us for Skill Masters and Open Studio.

We also offer Workshops for adults—no experience needed!

Sewing Machine Basics

Even if you've never sewn a stitch, don't be nervous! This class will get you friendly with the sewing machine - yours or ours. All supplies are included and you don't need to bring anything but a willingness to learn. We'll cover: Threading, Tension, Stitch Functions, Presser Feet, and Needles. We'll even make your first project, a key fob!

Beginner Series

Beginner Private Sewing Class

This 90-minute private lesson is designed for brand-new sewists who want a calm, personalized introduction before (or alongside) joining a group class. We'll move at your pace, focus on the basics that feel confusing, and build confidence in a low-pressure, one-on-one setting. This session focuses on core beginner skills rather than completing a full project. It's meant to support and prepare you for future group lessons rather than replacing them.
